Etsy...

I joined Etsy because I wanted to sell my craft, but I also loved the sense of community. I appreciate Etsy a lot because it is quite a marketplace for us sellers. It really makes my day when someone hearts me, compliments my work, or buys something. I appreciate the human contact, and of course I also appreciate the extra income. I've made some wonderful friends.

However as I spent more time on the site, I started noticing how all those details that sellers always complained about in the forums were really true. I hardly list anything because it is so time consuming. The checkout process is not really clear for buyers. I can't pay my bill with PayPal (yet, but I hear its coming). It took artfire to release stats, so that Etsy could do it too. Admins do shameless self promotion.

But all in all, I enjoy selling on Etsy. I am doing some changes to the shop already. I'm gonna concentrate on the vintage aspect, and leave the crafting a little aside. So that means more glasses, more vintage, and less brooches and some or two crafts. Between you and me, the brooches never sold really well anyways but I insisted on keeping them because I actually opened the shop for them.

But hey, change IS good...

yes, I just got an email about paying your Etsy account balance with PayPal. So easy to spend, when you don't even get a bill in the mail. Watch out!
