Flickr amazes me, except for the fact that they want me to pay so that I can view all my photos. Well, that amazes me too, but...
They have this great project called The Commons that makes available the public digitalised archives of different institutions. There are some amazing things and no known copyright restrictions to any of the photos in the various collections.
